A Sucky Place to Ride Skateboards

The Department of Transportation built this nifty little ditch as part of the widening project for Signal Mtn Rd in 2006. It's downhill and has a very mellow transition with banks, hips and other features to make the ride more fun. Plus, it's lit up like a real skatepark, 24/7/365.

Dan (punkrock flower farmer and journeyman tattoo artist from Rock Island, TN) was in town making a delivery, so we got together for an afternoon skate session. He busted out this stylish mute bonelessone.

Suck Ditch is just off Suck Creek Rd at the entrance to Portland Park, an official Chattanooga City Park. There's a sign that Just Says No to Skateboarding, but I'm assuming that it technically refers to the park itself, which does not have anything to skate anyway, because it's all all dirt and trees...

Suck on these lemons, PRAC!
