The Strongest of the Strange
Euros up the ante in this artistic skate epic by Pontus Alv. Gorgeous soundtrack with plenty of 80's alternative classics. Worldwide terrain and styles -- street, tranny, junk, ditches, skateparks, plazas, DIY, allover everything. Good mix of media... film, DV, video, graphics. Savannaside mini docudrama. What else can you say about a skate flic that features Bukowski readings and full male frontal nudity? Not Jackass full male frontal nudity... strangely absurd full male frontal nudity.

R.I.P. Big O
Here's one of the coolest, longest running, not-built-to-skate-but-eminently-skateable structures in the world. It's like the world's tightest miniramp with elevator extensions to the world's tightest fullpipe. In Concrete. Gnarly with a BIG G.
Marc Tison, Barry Walsh and others at the "Big O": olympic stadium in Montreal. It's gone, as of Monday.

Black metal, grey concrete, white shoes
For some reason, I've never actually been able to hit the same lines at Burnside as TnT does. It must be my black kicks. Trujillo gets shot on his day off...

Back in the day, skateboarding was really dangerous. Watch and learn as Mongo Lance follows "common sense safety pointers" and learns to "avoid foolish shortcuts". Many fun-filled hours lie ahead...

Street Skating Defined
Here's a neat little clip from the Powell-Peralta Bones Brigade classic, Public Domain. An ersatz anthropologist makes some poignant observations about the "cult" of street skating, circa 1988.
"Here, in a clandestine observation, we see a roving band of skateboard cultists practicing obscure urban rituals amidst the cultural detritus of an abandoned manufacturing facility. How is that these cultists can derive pleasure from the seemingly insignificant, the debris of modern society?"
